Your hosts here are Janet and Michael Edwards, retired professional musicians. Sometimes, our daughter Sophie comes to help out: she is a professional high soprano, and you’ll quite possibly hear her singing while she works. We have lived in Cornwall for more than 30 years and are more than happy to share our inside knowledge about this wonderful part of England. We take great pleasure in cooking, including providing really high quality breakfasts, and in hosting our discerning guests in luxurious accommodation which is appointed in the style that we always look for (but rarely find) when we stay away from home.
30th June 2018: A house full of returning guests; we have a lot of those, but this is the first time that we’ve had repeat guests in all three rooms! We all had a glass of Buck’s Fizz to celebrate.
Flossie and Stanley are very much part of the Atlantic House family. Flossie’s disabled older half-brother, dear Louis, died of a heart condition in May 2020, and Stanley joined the family soon after. Flossie is taking a long time to get used to Stanley, and seems to have forgotten that she was a pest to Louis when she was younger! Their friendly and enchanting characters charm many guests, but we are mindful that some guests do not like cats, or have an allergy, so they are not allowed in the Dining Room, or in the guests’ bedrooms (although they will try to tell you differently!).
