Although many adaptations have been made to Atlantic House over the years the essential Edwardian character of the house remains. Whilst we have done as much as we can to make our house as accessible for all, we are unable to alter some aspects without making fundamental changes to the structure. For example all our bedrooms are on the first floor and it is impractical to install lift access to these; therefore we are not able to accommodate those with severe disabilities. However, being a small business we are able to provide a personal service and assistance where necessary.
There is parking in the unadopted lane outside, which is unlit and has an uneven surface. We have lighting outside the house and torches are always available for walking up to the village (3/5 minutes' walk).
Assistance is offered if necessary with luggage from the car; if you are arriving by bus please let us know and we will pick you up from the bus stop in the village. The local bus service is First Western National 37 from Helston to Lizard.
The entrance to Atlantic House is up two 150mm high steps with a single gateway 950mm wide. Then up a slight incline to a sliding porch door max opening 840mm with a step 250mm high. The Dining Room leads off the hallway with a doorway 800mm wide; this also has a short piled carpet. It has one central large dining table. There are also two comfortable chairs in the bay window with a coffee table for guests' use.
The stairs to the first floor have a short piled carpet and are 840mm wide. There are 9 stairs to the first quarter landing, then 1 step to the next quarter landing and 6 further stairs to the top. Each tread is 180mm by 250mm deep.

All areas are well lit and there is emergency lighting in case of a power failure. There is full fire protection throughout with a new fire alarm.

Mobile telephone reception is poor in the area for many networks. Vodafone seems to be the worst. Orange, Virgin, EE and Edge work best here. Our landline is available for emergency use.
